We can provide you with information about discrimination, victimisation, sexual harassment, racial or religious vilification, change or suppression practice prohibition and human rights in Victoria. Our live service is available from 10am to 2pm, Monday to Friday and our callback service is available between 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

What you need to know if you are thinking about making a complaint

If you have experienced racism, sexual harassment or discrimination of any kind, or if you have any human rights issues or concerns, we want to hear from you. Our community reporting tool is not part of our formal complaint process but you can let us know if you’d like us to contact you.

A report identifies a person or an organisation who has allegedly tried to change or suppress an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity. A report may be made by the person affected, someone on their behalf or any other person.

Get in touch with us and request whether you would like to speak with a First Nations staff member. We have staff specifically trained to support First Nations peoples to make enquiries and complaints.

If a complaint is made about you or your organisation, we will contact you to talk about the complaint and invite you to participate to find an outcome.

We don’t handle complaints related to the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities. If your complaint is about a public authority breaching the Charter, you can contact the Victorian Ombudsman.
