What you need to know if you are thinking about making a complaint

If you have experienced discrimination, sexual harassment, vilification, hate speech or hateful behaviour, or victimisation, or if you have any human rights issues or concerns, we want to hear from you. Our community reporting tool is not part of our formal complaint process but you can let us know if you’d like us to contact you.

A report identifies a person or an organisation who has allegedly tried to change or suppress an individual’s sexual orientation or gender identity. A report may be made by the person affected, someone on their behalf or any other person.

Get in touch with us and request whether you would like to speak with a First Nations staff member. We have staff specifically trained to support First Nations peoples to make enquiries and complaints.

We don’t handle complaints related to the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities. If your complaint is about a public authority breaching the Charter, you can contact the Victorian Ombudsman.
