Manager, Human Rights Education (VPS6)

The Manager, Human Rights Education, leads and coordinates a small highly skilled education team to develop and deliver education programs and services for public, private and community organisations on human rights and equal opportunity. The role is responsible for leading innovative and tailored client programs, schedules courses, speaking engagements, eLearning and digital education services that are contemporary and respond to the changing needs of rights holders and duty bearers.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • demonstrated knowledge and experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of education services, including tailored face-to-face, digital and blended programs, tools and resources
  • demonstrated experience leading and managing education programs and cultural change projects, involving diverse stakeholders and multiple deliverables
  • knowledge and understanding of the Commission and equal opportunity and human rights laws; or capacity to quickly attain this knowledge.

This is a fixed-term position, up to 31 December 2024.

Complaints Coordinator (VPS3)

The Commission accepts complaints from a diverse range of people who allege discrimination, sexual harassment, victimisation and vilification.  The Complaints Co-ordinator undertakes a large volume of client contact with this diverse range of clients.

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Commission and its legislation; or capacity to quickly gain this knowledge
  • the ability to build and sustain effective relationships with clients in order to build a common understanding and address their needs
  • the ability to seek understanding regarding the issues, needs and motivations of others while establishing trust and mutual respect in others and providing information and decisions in a sensitive and considerate manner.

This is a fixed-term position, for 8 months.
