Guideline: LGBTIQA+ inclusive workplaces

About the guideline

The Guideline: LGBTIQA+ inclusive workplaces provides information for employers about their duty to eliminate workplace discrimination against LGBTIQA+ employees.

The guideline includes helpful information on the law and LGBTIQA+ people, so employers know how to:

  1. identify workplace discrimination against LGBTIQA+ employees
  2. effectively act to prevent discrimination from happening
  3. respond to discrimination if it happens.

The guideline sets out 5 minimum standards that employers must meet to comply with their positive duty under the Equal Opportunity Act. It provides practical examples of actions employers can take to create an inclusive workplace.
