We all belong and need to feel safe

We all deserve to be treated with respect, feel safe and be secure as we go about our daily lives.  These are our basic human rights.

Too many in our community are feeling unsafe, unwelcome and targeted because of their race, how they look, their faith, their accent, who they love, the place they were born or other parts of their identity.

This is never acceptable.  Everyone should be safe and respected on our streets, in our schools, workplaces, restaurants, during peaceful protests, at cultural sites, online – everywhere.

Challenging hatred is urgent – silence allows prejudice to spread.

Our differences make us who we are – and this diversity is our greatest strength.

We value all identities, all communities and all people.

We stand together against prejudice.
