Discrimination and the law > A guide for owners corporations – Jun 2018

Owners corporations have legal obligations under the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. This information sheet provides tips to help them to meet their obligations to prevent discrimination and sexual harassment when providing services and accommodation.

It contains examples of common discrimination issues that may arise for owners corporations. It has case studies from Victoria and other Australian jurisdictions to help show what these obligations mean in practice.

The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission stands on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung Peoples of the Kulin Nation. We recognise their cultures, histories, diversity and deep connection to this land and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Sovereignty has never been ceded – this land always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
