Ambulance Victoria review – Special announcement (16 April)

For the next stage of consultation for our independent review into workplace equality in Ambulance Victoria, we will be conducting site visits at various Victorian sites, from 22 April to 28 May.

The Review Team is pleased to announce that we are now commencing (COVID-Safe) site visits to a number of AV workplaces.

What are site visits?

During site visits, our team members will travel to AV workplaces across metropolitan Melbourne and regional areas visiting corporate and operational work locations and branches. We will tour these workplaces and then make ourselves available to chat with AV employees and first responders/volunteers (e.g., in a breakroom or nearby location). A staff member will meet with us at each site to assist.

These visits allows us to:

  • see firsthand the physical environment and operational context in which AV’s corporate and operational staff work
  • share information about the Commission and the review, including about what the review is examining, how you can take part and our progress and next steps
  • meet informally with you and answer your questions.

When and where will the visits take place?

Site visits will take place in the locations below. In those locations that are asterisked,* we will also make ourselves available at a nearby location. Further information (such as the time of our visit and venue if we will be making ourselves available nearby) will be provided to the individual locations through the contacts at each location and the relevant managers (and branches located nearby) shortly.

What if I want to engage with the Review Team during a site visit, but won’t be available?

We appreciate the limits on your time and your various working circumstances. If you’re not able to reach the Review Team at these locations, you can always contact us on 1300 395 726 or at AVreview@veohrc.vic.gov.au.

How will the Commission use information obtained during site visits?

Any information shared with the Review Team during site visits will help to inform our understanding of what it is like to work or volunteer in AV, as well as the state of workplace equality in Ambulance Victoria. Our final report will not identify anyone who engages with us during the site visits and, like with other aspects of the review, your engagement with us during these visits is entirely voluntary.

If you would like to share any personal experiences with us, we’d suggest you contact us to register your interest in participating in an interview (registrations close 21 April) or a focus group, or make a written submission. This will help us to ensure we can provide a safe and confidential environment for you to share your experiences.
