Creating safe spaces for staff in troubling times – Human rights, leadership and workplace culture - a panel discussion

To mark Human Rights Week 2023, we are partnering with IPAA Victoria, with the support of Diversity Council Australia, to hold a special panel discussion on how we can best create workplaces that are safe and inclusive for staff.

About the event

Quite often, incidents and events on a geopolitical scale impact the personal lives of professionals who carry out public services in Australia. In troubling times, individuals rely on the support and care of those around them, including their employers. The challenging circumstances have refocused business leaders’ attention on how we can best create workplaces that are safe and inclusive for staff. How can human rights principles act as a foundation for supportive and empathetic leadership? This panel discussion will offer best practice insights and practical tips for people leaders and professionals in the sector to create a psychologically safe workplace.

Speakers to be announced.

About Human Rights Week 2023

International Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10 December. On this day in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Every year in December we recognise and celebrate this day through a week of events, connection, and advocacy. Through these events we highlight human rights issues as they apply to the everyday lives of Victorians.

Visit the Human Rights Week page to find out about our week of action for human rights and to sign up to receive your daily actions.
