Changes to our services

As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, we know that many people are experiencing significant uncertainty about what the immediate future holds and the impact on them and their families.

At the Commission, we’re closely monitoring advice from health authorities. Ensuring the health and safety of our staff and those who use our services remains our top priority.

To best manage the risk, we’ve made a few adjustments to our operations and services. Our physical office is now closed – but we’re still here to help, via our live chat service or email.

Enquiry service

Our enquiry service will continue to operate during this period. If you have a question about discrimination, sexual harassment or vilification, or would like more information about your rights and responsibilities under Victoria’s anti-discrimination laws, please use our live chat service or email enquiries@veohrc.vic.gov.au. Please note that our enquiry phone line is temporarily closed until further notice.

Dispute resolution

Our dispute resolution service will continue to operate during this period, although we are not conducting face-to-face conciliations. We continue to offer conciliations either by telephone or video conferencing. If you have lodged a complaint with us, our conciliators will work with you to determine an approach that suits you. For more information about making a complaint about discrimination, sexual harassment or vilification, please email enquiries@veohrc.vic.gov.au.

Education sessions

As a health precaution, we are suspending our face-to-face training sessions and exploring ways to deliver sessions remotely and online. If you have registered for an upcoming session, our Education and Engagement team will be in touch with further information. If you would like to discuss how we can deliver tailored remote education services for your workplace, call our Education and Engagement team on (03) 9032 3467 or email education@veohrc.vic.gov.au.

If you need any further information about our services or how we can help, please visit our website at www.humanrightscommission.vic.gov.au.

We recognise that this is an incredibly difficult time for many members of the community. Solidarity and support will be vital for the most vulnerable among us, particularly those with compromised immunity or who may struggle to access essential services. We hope we can all continue to treat each other with care and compassion.
