Independent review of Ambulance Victoria
Ambulance Victoria has engaged the Commission to complete an independent review into workplace equality in Ambulance Victoria, following reports of alleged discrimination, sexual harassment, victimisation and bullying in the organisation.
Who took part?
To support the review, the Commission established a range of safe, confidential and independent pathways for current and former Ambulance Victoria employees and first responder/volunteers to participate, including participating in focus groups, filling out an online survey, taking part in confidential interviews and providing written submissions.
These processes have now closed.
Can I also make a formal complaint?
If you shared your experiences with us, we will use this information to identify broad themes that will inform the findings and recommendations in our final report.
Participating in the review does not constitute making a formal complaint under the Equal Opportunity Act. For this reason, the Commission will not make any findings about your individual experience of discrimination, sexual harassment, victimisation and/or bullying.
Separate to the review, however, you can make a complaint under the Equal Opportunity Act using the Commission’s Dispute Resolution Service. You can do this at any time, now or in the future, including while you are participating in the review. The Commission’s Dispute Resolution Service is separate to the review and information you provide as part of a dispute resolution process will not be provided to the review without your consent.
The Commission can provide you with information about your options for making a formal complaint. This may include lodging a complaint with the Commission or another external body.
To find out more about how to make a formal complaint and what options are available to you, please call our Hotline on 1300 395 726 or read our information sheet on making a formal complaint.
Information provided to the Commission for the purpose of participating in the review will not be treated as formal evidence for the purpose of any formal complaint, investigation or court proceeding.
